Concept Notes from the Creator: I was very inspired by Vocaloid and I heard about people making their own UTAU voices and wanted to do the same. I hadn't seen any mermaid concepts for UTAUs, so that was something I wanted to do to make her unique. "Lucy" came from Elfen Lied, as well as my liking for the name. It's vintage and cute. "Shirane" was something I came up on the fly and sounded nice. The way you'd interpret it from Japanese is "白" meaning white- I chose this to allude to her pure and almost naive nature. "音" is standard in UTAU and Vocaloid naming and means sound.
